* 1946 - The LORD laid it upon the hearts of the faithful believers of Berean Baptist Church, at 1574 Coit Ave. NE, Grand Rapids, Michigan, to establish a Mission Church in the North East end of Grand Rapids.
* 1947 - Lots were purchased on Plainfield Ave.
* 1953 - The area had grown to where Berean knew it was time to build. Plans were drawn and a bank loan was secured. March 22, 1954 the ground breaking ceremony was held for N.B.C.'s first building. The total cost of the building and furniture was $19,500.
* 1954 - Nov. 14 - Dedication Sunday. The building was ready for the first service. Participating in the Dedication Service were

o Dr. Ray Davis - Director of S.I.M (Sudan Interior Mission) - Dedication Prayer
o Dr. Howard Keithly - Pastor of Berean Baptist - Closing statement to Congregation
The next 18 months, the pulpit was filled by many wonderful friends like those listed below

o Dr. Leon Wood
* 1956 - Rev. Harold Legant was called as Northland's first Pastor. In June, the church was organized and joined the GARBC.
* 1958 - Two new wings were added to the basement to accommodate the Sunday School growth.
* 1959 - Rev. Harold Legant resigns and Dr. Warren Faber is called as interim Pastor.
* 1960 - Because of continued growth and need for more space, Northland Baptist Church appoints a building committee.
* 1961 - Dr. Warren Faber resigned. In August, Rev. Charles Wood became the new Pastor. Soon duplicate morning worship services started to relieve crowed conditions.
* 1962 - Again Northland Baptist appoints a building committee. Four acres of land are purchased on Hunsberger Ave. NE. Ground breaking services were held on September 16th 1962. Construction started in October.
* 1963 - On Sunday, July 14, 1963, the first service was held. Total cost of the building was $230,000. Dedication of the new building was held on November 10, 1963. Taking part in the dedication service were

o Rev. Harold Legant - Evening Servicev
* 1964 - At this time Northland is supporting eight Missionaries.
* 1966 - Rev. Jerry Cudney joins the staff as Christian Education Director.
* 1970 - Rev. Charles Wood resigns and Rev. Jerry Cudney becomes interim pastor.
* 1971 - The Awana program begins in September. Rev. Robert Whitney accepted the call as pastor in December. Northland again appoints a Building Committee.
* 1972 - Ground breaking services were held in October and construction begins on the new sanctuary. Total cost of the building was $722,000.
* 1973 - The first service in the new sanctuary was held on Thanksgiving evening.
* 1974 - Rev. Tom Rohrer joined the staff as Minister of Education in January. The dedication of the new building was held in March 1974.
* 1975 - Northland Preschool was launched.
* 1977 - The entire parking lot was paved.
* 1978 - The property adjoining the church on the North was purchased and the house became the church parsonage.
* 1981 - Rev. Robert Whitney resigned.
* 1982 - Rev. Maynard Belt accepted the pastorate at Northland. During his tenure, the Faith Promise Missionary was instituted.
* 1988 - Rev. Maynard Belt resigned. The $722,000 mortgage was burned at the Thanksgiving service.
* 1989 - The preschool enrollment is 111. Northland supports 29 missionaries and 11 agencies.
* 1990 - Rev. Larry Green accepts the call to be Pastor of Northland. He was very much involved in starting the West Michigan Mission Consortium.
* 2000 - Rev. Larry Green resigns.
* 2001 - Rev. Roy Clark and Rev. Tom Dolph served as interim pastors.
* 2002 - In February, Rev. David Cvetich accepts the Pastorate of Northland.
* 2003 - Shane Clum becomes part time Youth Pastor.
* 2004 - The 50th anniversary celebration was held. Many former members and staff came back to celebrate with us.
* 2011 - Pastor Cevetich and Pastor Clum resign
* 2012 - Pastor Charles Alber acepts the position of Interim Pastor.
